Graduation 2023 pictures are now available from Lifetouch. Congratulations and best wishes to the Class of 2023!!!

New Era Academy’s students will have a half-day on Monday, June 12th with an 11:30 am dismissal time. Also on Monday, students, staff and community members are welcome to join us for treats from Smoothie King at 10:30 am. The Smoothie King is New Era's prize for winning the 60-Day Attendance Challenge in the high school category. Congratulations!

Update! Tomorrow's trip to Ocean City has been canceled due to the Air Quality alert. We will not be able to reschedule the trip. We thank you for understanding.

New Era Academy’s Commencement Ceremony for the Class of 2023 is Thursday, June 8th at 3 pm at Coppin State University's Physical Education Complex. Doors open for guests at 2:30 pm and every one must have a ticket to enter. Graduates and guests can park in any CSU lot except for Lot H. No one should park at Mondawmin Mall or on the Douglas High School campus.

Balloons, signs, and outside food and beverages are prohibited by CSU. All graduates received an information sheet with Graduation Day details for them and their guests at today's rehearsal.

Summer School registration will open soon for students that need to recover credits from their academic classes. Review the information for this year's In-Person and APEX (Virtual) Summer School options. Registration forms will be sent home with students this week and our School Counselors have been meeting with students to discuss the courses they need to take. June Grads! We will see you on Tuesday, June 6th for Graduation Rehearsal at 10 am. After rehearsal, you will receive your cap and gown, Graduation tickets, yard sign and important Graduation Day information for you and your guests. Let Ms. Moreau or Ms. Epstein know if you cannot attend rehearsal so we can arrange a time for you to pick up your items. We are so excited to celebrate New Era's final graduating class on Thursday! 🎓

Final Exams begin on Monday, June 5th and continue through Thursday, June 8th. Exam days are half-days for students with an 11:30 am dismissal time. Friday, June 9th and Monday, June 12th are designated for Makeup Exams only. Additionally, students must clean out all lockers before they leave on Tuesday, June 6th. As we prepare for closure, all items left in lockers after June 6th will be disposed of. Thank you!

Next Tuesday, May 9th, New Era Academy will host sessions on Virtual Learning options and Alternative Option Programs (AOPs) for next school year. The district has extended the deadline for our students to choose a school for next year to Friday, May 12th. Make sure you submit a Choice Application if you have not already done so. Please see your School Counselor for support.
