We view every learner as tomorrow's innovator today. We Teach to Develop Talent!

Are you looking for high-impact strategies for teachers and parents to discover and develop talent potential in all children? I highly recommend Parenting for High Potential (PHP) and Teaching for High Potential (THP), publications of the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC).
My colleague Amy T. Goodman and I published this article in the PHP Summer/Back to School edition: Metacognition: Unleash Your Child’s Super Thinking.
Both publications are benefits of NAGC membership, and are well worth the membership fee which includes much, much more! Join at nagc.org.

So excited to teach the JHU Creativity in Education course this summer! Dr. Jonathan Plucker's newly edited book Creativity & Innovation is a true page-turner for someone like me who wants to know the latest theory and practice.
I'm honored that students will also draw from my book Teach to Develop Talent: How to Motivate and Engage Tomorrow's innovators Today.
I can't wait to meet my class starting May 28.

I am honored to be presenting at the 62nd California Association for the Gifted (CAG) Annual Virtual Conference, February 23 – 25, 2024. Keynote speakers Dr. Sandra Kaplan, Dr. Sally Reis, and Dr. Michelle Frazier Trottman Scott set the focus on effective instructional approaches capable of meeting the needs of all students, including those who are advanced, gifted, twice-exceptional (2e), and multilingual learners.
My session, “Every Child an Innovator: How to Create a Talent Development Mindset,” is scheduled for Sunday, February 25 at 11:00 PT (2:00 ET). Hope to see you there!

I'm so very grateful to each of you who attended my presentation at the NAGC23 conference in Orlando. It was an honor to share my heart and work with you. Together, we can "revolutionize" our classrooms to be "talent-targeted" and not just test-targeted.
Teach tomorrow's innovators today!

Hope to see many of you at the NAGC23 Conference Nov. 9 - 12 in Walt Disney World - home to some of the world's most innovative! What if we viewed every learner as tomorrow's innovator, today?
Check out my session on Friday @10:30:
Every Child an Innovator: Teach and Assess the Seven Aptitudes of Innovators.
No time to teach creativity? What if your instructional goals empowered you to develop the “aptitudes of innovators”—curiosity, creativity, logical reasoning, insight, metacognition, persistence, leadership—all in the context of your required curriculum? Learn the five practical steps for creating and assessing talent-targeted goals in STEM and humanities. You can nurture and advance the aptitudes of innovators in all.

Join me Friday, October 20 at the virtual Maryland Educators of Gifted Students (MEGS) conference! Can't make that day? Register now and access online for one year the keynotes and 30 different on-demand sessions.
Be sure to catch my on-demand session, "Metacognition: How to Engage Your Students’ Super Thinking."
Have you taught metacognitive strategies for goal-setting, planning, self-monitoring, etc., only to find out they just didn’t “stick?” That’s because we need to first teach the concept of metacognition itself. This session shows you how, right in the context of your current curriculum.
