It's important for parents of college-bound students to understand the differences between "helping" and "enabling." Do you complete daily tasks for your teen which they should learn to do for themselves? Tread lightly because you're often worried you will upset them? Regularly fix your teen's mistakes? Detrimental enabling does not set almost-college students up for success.
