✨ Story Time Magic at Daycare Today ✨
Today’s story time turned into such a beautiful learning moment. We focused on imitation, color identification, feelings recognition, and using everyday stories to build early communication skills.
The kids were all lined up on the couch, listening so patiently while I read from the floor — and even our sweet puppy joined in, calmly relaxing on her bed behind us. These quiet, connected moments are some of my favorites.
📚 Why Story Time Matters (Infants–4 Years):
Story time isn’t just cozy — it’s developmental gold.
• Helps infants and toddlers build early language and listening skills
• Encourages imitation and turn‑taking
• Supports emotional awareness through identifying characters’ feelings
• Strengthens color and object recognition
• Builds attention span and patience in a gentle, natural way
I love watching their little faces light up as they connect with the story and with each other. These are the moments that shape confident, curious learners.

🎄✨ Today’s holiday craft was simple, sensory, and packed with learning for our 1.5–4‑year‑olds. Each child started with a plain outline of a Christmas tree on printer paper, then got to cut or tear pieces of papaws to glue inside the shape. Once their trees were “built,” they used bingo daubers to add colorful ornaments.
What looks like a cute craft is actually supporting so many areas of development:
Fine Motor Skills:
Tearing, cutting, squeezing glue, and stamping with daubers all strengthen little hands and fingers — the same muscles they’ll use for writing, zipping coats, and feeding themselves.
Hand‑Eye Coordination & Spatial Awareness:
Filling the tree outline with pieces, placing ornaments, and aiming the daubers helps children learn how to control their movements with purpose.
Creativity & Early Art Skills:
Even with the same outline, every tree looked different. Kids made choices about color, placement, and design, building confidence in their own ideas.
Language & Social Development:
We talked about colors, shapes, textures, and holiday traditions while they worked. Older children practiced turn‑taking and sharing materials, while our younger ones explored alongside peers.
Age‑Specific Growth:
• 1.5–2.5 years: Sensory exploration, tearing practice, cause‑and‑effect (“stamp makes a dot”), and early gluing skills.
• 2.5–3.5 years: Beginning scissor skills, more intentional placement of pieces, and growing independence.
• 3.5–4 years: Planning their design, using tools with more control, and expressing their own creative style.
It was messy, meaningful, and full of joy — exactly how learning should feel this time of year. ❤️🎨

These are just a few of the fun activities keeping us learning, laughing, and celebrating the season together. 💙✨

Zoo field trip success! 🐾🦒🦁
We kicked things off with the penguins, then had lunch and a cozy nap near the giraffes. The kids loved spotting lions, elephants, cheetahs, zebras, rhinos, and ostriches—so many favorites in one day! After visiting the elephants, we headed to the goat corral for some hands-on grooming fun, followed by playtime on the slide and three exciting rounds on the carousel. So many smiles, so many memories—these photos say it all! 💛📸
