"On Monday, April 27 Friends of Hampden partnered with Justin Garritt of Garritt Financial Solutions to hold its first ever 529 Night for Hampden Elementary Middle School! With food provided by Kitsch Cafe, Mr. Garritt walked families through the process of starting a Maryland 529, a Maryland College Investment Plan, and making the most of the savings for their students’ bright futures. The families were able to learn about their options and open the accounts in just an hour. Dr. Alice Kim of Drs. Chen and Kim Dentistry gifted $100 to every student who opened a 529 at the event, setting a life changing foundation for the HEMS Students and families new 529 accounts."

Maryland parents — this is one of the best “free money” opportunities most people miss 👇
If you have kids (or beneficiaries) under age 26, take a few minutes to look into the Maryland 529 Save4College State Contribution Program.
💰 You may be eligible to receive $250–$500 from the State of Maryland just for contributing to a 529 account
📅 Deadline to apply is May 31
📍 Must be a Maryland resident, and the beneficiary must also be a MD resident under 26 (Maryland 529)
Even better: You can qualify with contributions as low as $25, depending on income (Maryland 529)
This is one of those rare situations where the return on your first dollars invested can be HUGE.
If you’ve been meaning to start saving for college (or even if you already have a 529), this is worth checking out.
