Lastly for WHM , lets get to know

Dr. Vivian Pinn

A pathologist and a trailblazing leader in women’s health research. As the first director of the NIH Office of Research on Women’s Health (ORWH), she transformed how s*x and gender are considered in science and medicine. Under her leadership, the NIH began mandating the inclusion of women and minorities in clinical research, correcting decades of gender bias. A fierce advocate for equity, Pinn is widely credited with laying the foundation for s*x-based medicine and has received numerous honors for her lifelong contributions to health advocacy and scientific inclusion.

To kickoff Women’s History Month, let us introduce you to

Beatrice Mintz!

A pioneer in genetics, Mintz revolutionized biomedical research by creating the first chimeric and transgenic mice—techniques that laid the foundation for modern genetic engineering. Despite working in a male-dominated field, her discoveries transformed our understanding of cellular differentiation, stem cell cancer biology, and developmental biology. Her work showed that even cancer cells could be reprogrammed in the right environment, proving that genetics isn’t always destiny.
