Today, on what would have been Steve “Gundy” Gunderson’s birthday, the City of Baltic is proud to honor a man whose impact on our community will be felt for generations.

Mayor Brian McGreevy has proclaimed August 30, 2026 as “Steve ‘Gundy’ Gunderson – A Celebration of Life Day.”

Gundy was much more than an educator, coach, volunteer, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He had a remarkable way of making people feel known, valued, and welcome, and his dedication to the Baltic community touched countless lives.

Today, we celebrate his life, his legacy, and the many memories he leaves behind. Happy Birthday, Gundy. You are deeply missed and will never be forgotten. 💙

Thanks to our awesome Public Works crew, the new swings at Tower Park are officially up and ready for some fun! We appreciate all the hard work these guys put in behind the scenes to make our community a better place. Thanks for all you do, Paul and Bryce! 👏

We have received numerous complaints regarding golf carts and side-by-sides being driven on city sidewalks, through our parks, and on the bike path.

Please be advised that motorized vehicles, including golf carts and side-by-sides, are NOT permitted on sidewalks, in city parks, or on the bike path.

The safety of our children, pedestrians, and park visitors is our top priority. The City has recently installed security cameras in these areas, and violations will be monitored.

Anyone found operating these vehicles where they are prohibited may be subject to a citation.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in helping keep our parks, sidewalks, and trails safe for all residents.
