🌾🏞️ Protect the Character of Our Rural Community 🏞️🌾

Our community is more than just a place to live; it's HOME. It's rolling farmland, scenic lakes, winding streams, abundant with wildlife, and the peaceful countryside that make it charming.

Residents are concerned that the placement of large cell towers without sufficient local oversight or community input could permanently alter the landscape, impact property values, and change the rural character we've worked so hard to preserve.

Here are three simple ways you can help:

1️⃣ Invite 3 friends to follow this page and stay informed.
2️⃣ Subscribe to our newsletter for updates, meeting notices, and action alerts.

3️⃣Contact your local representatives and let them know that community voices deserve to be heard in decisions that affect our neighborhoods.

Every voice matters. Together, we can advocate for responsible planning that balances connectivity needs with the preservation of the rural beauty and quality of life we cherish.

Congress is advancing six bills — HR 1343, 1588, 1665, 1681, 1731, and 6046 — that would greatly expand federal control over wireless deployment and limit the ability of local governments to regulate where wireless facilities are installed.

Wireless infrastructure cell towers, 5G small cells, and antennas are rapidly expanding across neighborhoods, near schools, and in public spaces.

Many argue that RF emissions from these systems are not risk-free. Citing more than 10,000 studies, critics link RF exposure to potential harms including oxidative stress, DNA damage, reduced fertility, metabolic effects such as type 2 diabetes, and cancer.

Unlike personal devices like phones or home Wi‑Fi routers, exposure from fixed network infrastructure is widespread and largely unavoidable, leaving families and children with little ability to opt out.

Excerpt: Explore the health impacts of wireless sources such as smartphones, Wi-Fi routers, cell towers, smart meters and Internet of Things (IoT) devices.

What is a setback ordinance?

A setback ordinance is a local zoning rule that determines how far a structure or development must be placed from homes, roads, property lines, schools, or other important areas.

These rules are designed to help protect public safety, property values, rural character, noise, and visual impacts

For example, some communities require large developments to be a certain distance away from nearby residences.

Understanding local ordinances helps residents stay informed and involved in decisions that affect their community.

The expansion of outdoor RF exposure is increasingly viewed as an environmental pollutant (as defined by wireless companies), and is now the dominant exposure source in many areas. RF exposure limits were designed solely for humans and have never been established for wildlife, local ecosystems, migrating birds, or aquatic species.

Maintaining local control over cell tower development is important because land-use and zoning decisions are best made by the communities directly affected by them.

Local officials have firsthand knowledge of neighborhood characteristics, environmental limitations, infrastructure needs, and resident concerns that outside agencies and corporations may not fully understand.

Preserving local authority helps ensure that decisions involving cell towers consider impacts on homes, schools, property values, public spaces, and overall community character, while balancing the need for reliable wireless service with responsible planning and public safety

While the FCC ignores a 2021 court order to update their safety standards, they instead push for a new bill H.R. 2289 that strips away local governance over cell installations.

Welcome to our community page dedicated to protecting property rights, promoting responsible cell tower development, and preserving what makes rural Wisconsin special.

This page was created to share information, encourage respectful discussion, and keep residents informed about proposed wireless infrastructure projects that may impact our homes, schools, farmland, property values, and rural character.

We support reliable communication services, but we also believe local communities deserve transparency, accountability, and a voice in decisions that affect where we live.
