🐾 A Joyful Celebration for Our Patron, Saint Francis! 🕊️✨

What a beautiful weekend gathering as a school and parish family! The celebration began on Saturday evening with Father James giving a special Blessing of the Animals—and several of our students were thrilled to bring their beloved pets to receive this sweet blessing! 🐶🐱

On Sunday morning, our Saint Francis Classical Catholic Academy families joined the Most Blessed Sacrament Parish community for a memorable first Family Sunday Mass of this school year during this special Jubilee Year of Saint Francis.

Our entire student body worked hard in music class to learn 🎶 “All Creatures of Our God and King” to lead the congregation at the beginning and end of Mass. Several of our 5th through 12th graders sang from the choir loft, with Schola members chanting the Responsorial Psalm verses, followed by a stunning 3-part a ca****la Communion meditation of “Dona Nobis Pacem.”

Why these songs?

🎵 “All Creatures of Our God and King” was directly inspired by Saint Francis’s famous Canticle of the Sun, in which he praised God through all of creation—sun, moon, wind, water, and every living creature!

🎵 “Dona Nobis Pacem” (“Grant Us Peace”) echoes Saint Francis’s lifelong calling as an instrument of Christ’s peace, rendered in timeless, traditional 3-part polyphony.

A heart felt thank you to Father James and the MBS parishioners for welcoming our school family so warmly for Mass!

🥐 Following Mass, everyone gathered in the schoolhouse for wonderful food and fellowship. A huge thank you to our faculty, staff, and upper school culinary guild, The Red Bird Bistro, for preparing such delicious refreshments—and for setting up the fun Saint Francis facts and activities throughout the room! Thank you to all the families who brought their children to celebrate with us. ♥️

🗓️ SAVE THE DATE:

Please join us for our next Family Sunday on Sunday, November 1st for the Solemnity of All Saints! Look out for more details soon—we have exciting things planned and more beautiful music to share as we honor the Church Triumphant! 😇✨

✝️ HAPPY PRIESTHOOD SUNDAY, Father James!

Today, on Priesthood Sunday, our entire Saint Francis Classical Catholic Academy and Most Blessed Sacrament Parish community gives profound thanks to God for the gift of the priesthood—and especially for our pastor, Father James.

We are so deeply grateful for Father James's pastoral leadership and creative vision. Together with the inspiration, dedication, and hard work of his parishioners, he helped reimagine and launch Saint Francis as a vibrant classical Catholic school rooted in truth, goodness, and beauty.

Because of his steadfast commitment to Catholic education and spiritual fatherhood, our classrooms are thriving, our students are growing in wisdom and virtue, and our parish family has a beautiful educational home and church.

Father James, thank you for your daily sacrifices, your spiritual guidance, your dedication to our children, and for answering the call to shepherd our community with such heart and devotion.

✏️ OPERATION PENCIL: Supporting Sister Lisa’s Mission!

We are so excited to partner with other Catholic schools across our diocese to support Sister Lisa Valentini as she prepares for her upcoming mission trip! 🌎

Through Operation Pencil, our students and families have the wonderful opportunity to put faith into action by collecting basic school supplies for children in need. Simple items like pencils and hand-held sharpeners make a world of difference for students who might otherwise go without.

📄 Check out the flyer and letter sent home in your red folder (also located in the announcements and reminders section of our website) for the full details on her mission and how to participate!

We can’t wait to welcome Sister Lisa to Saint Francis Classical Catholic Academy when she returns home so she can share photos, stories, and highlights from her mission journey with our students.

Thank you in advance to our St. Francis Classical family for your generosity and prayers for Sister Lisa’s safe travels and fruitful mission!

✨ Inspired Educators, Transforming Hearts ✨

This past summer, members of our Saint Francis Classical faculty had the blessing of attending the 2026 ICLE (Institute for Catholic Liberal Education) National Conference in Columbus, Ohio, gathering with educators from across the country to deepen our mission of classical Catholic formation.

We loved this moving reflection shared by ICLE from Bishop Andrew Cozzens:

"Our job as Catholic educators is to facilitate a deep encounter with the One who created the human heart. By bringing the intellectual tradition back into our schools, we create a sanctuary where truth dwells, transforming wounded hearts so they can go out and heal the world."

— Most Reverend Andrew H. Cozzens, S.T.D., D.D., Bishop of Crookston

We thought our Saint Francis Classical Catholic Academy families and supporters would enjoy this beautiful highlight video showing the heart behind the Catholic classical movement our school is so proud to be a part of! 🎬👇
