16H 6 year old flashy Friesian / QH cross. FHH registered. Used as my primary trail horse the past three years. Flashy trot and big mover. Not a beginner horse. A lot of energy and is a nervous horse. You can trust her in the saddle but she will spook at new things and is very looky when we ride out alone or she's at the front of the group in a ride. She'll ride in front, middle or end of a group just fine. No kick or bite at other horses. Gets along great in turnout with others. Great herd leader in turnout. Ridden all over from Queeny, Greensfelder and Babler to Eminence and Shawnee. Loads and hauls great. Solid feet and keeps shoes the full 8 weeks between shoeing.
She turns heads everywhere we go. She isn't fancy broke as all I do is trail ride. But she is athletic enough if you wanted to take her in another direction. Asking ☝️✌️,🐴🐴🐴. Ballwin, MO area.

I am looking for someone or two people interested in helping 1-2 hours a day Mon-Fri in exchange for lease rides or offsetting board for 1 horse. 6-7 stalls to clean and feed and turnout out 6-7 horses. Takes between 1-2 hours a day.

Looking for someone interested in swapping help around the barn during the week for either lease rides on one of my horses (skill level dependent) or board for 1 horse. DM us if interested.

Ideally mornings but could do late afternoons / evenings for the right situation.

If there was ever a dream ride this was it!!

Not just one trail, one lesson, one trip, one horse, one day but a collection of thousands that made this the dream ride.

It started over a b**r and a bonfire, followed by a phone call and a road trip then decided while sharing a pizza and took off from there.

I never could have imagined how rewarding and special it all became.

Thank you too all who started out as friends and became Castlewood Family.

Castlewood Stables grew out of a love for family. On family land, Kevin and Jim built a horse stable as a place for their dad to spend his retirement. Papa Lou was the face of the barn in those early years, greeting everyone from his perch on the tractor.

Over the years we built a destination: a place to collect experiences. Lessons, trail rides, barn movie nights, even a camp out in the arena. We bobbed for apples with our horses, cooked up burgers and dogs as our barn family gathered. We held Santa Horse events in the winter, Parent and Me events in the summer. And added batting cages to the mix for a whole other group of kids to come play at the barn.

And, COVID. When everyone was locked down, the barn was a safe place to be outdoors and socially distant, and our barn family came out to be with the horses. We never felt alone or isolated. Our friends were still here. And the pirate ship was built. Because the second Kevin heard schools were closed and kids were stuck home, he ordered lumber. Lots and lots of lumber.

And while horses were the purpose, Kevin indulged the kids and himself with everything from Tihsllub, our mini Zebu bull, to Einstein the zebra. And rabbits, goats, pigs, tortoises, peacocks, alpacas ... our kids grew up with them all.

All of this while raising our kids here. Giving them experiences that shaped their childhoods.

And now it is time to collect new experiences, and sell our home and all of the possibilities it holds.

Castlewood Stables was everything we dreamed it could be, and it's time to pass the dreams on.

Imagine the possibilities, the experiences just waiting at the end of the gravel road.

I appreciate all of the interest that's been shown regarding Castlewood Stables. It validates the work we put in all these years to have a great stables where great experiences are had. The anticipated sale of the property that the stables operated on did not close as expected. While the property is still for sale, I will be resuming boarding operations as Castlewood Stables. We have 6 open full care stall board spots currently open. We will have someone living on the property as before and I am back managing daily care and operations of the stables as before.

We may start the lesson program back up next month but more to come on whether we do that. At the moment we're just running a boarding barn.

We have a total of 20 stalls for boarders at the moment with 6 openings. Please reach out to me directly with questions either via DM or the information on the Castlewood Stables website.
