New Staff Spotlight!

Please help us welcome Sandy Smith as a new Paraprofessional Teacher.

My name is Sandy Smith and I am excited to join the Crestview staff! I have been married to my husband Mike for 28 years, we have 4 kids (26, 24, 20 and 17) and 2 goldendoodle dogs. This year is a milestone year because our youngest will graduate from high school - we've had a kiddo in school for 21 consecutive years. I love being outdoors where I can play with our dogs, walk, hike and garden. I also love to cook but rarely measure or follow recipes so it's hard for me to prepare the same meal twice and makes me terrible at baking. I graduated from UMSL a long time ago, worked for Enterprise Rent-A-Car and then became a stay at home mom. I've been a para for the past 15 years - 10 years in the Francis Howell school district and 5 years working for SSD at Pond Elementary in Rockwood. As a para, I strive to build relationships and help teach independence. I'm looking forward to a great year!

New Staff Spotlight!

Please help us welcome Brandon Barger as our new student support center teacher.

Hello, my name is Brandon Barger. I am a K–12 Rockwood student who graduated from MHS in 2004 and wrestled on the varsity team all four years of high school. I also have two children who are current Rockwood students. In my free time, I love fishing and camping along the Missouri River and spending time with my family. My wife has been a teacher for over a decade, and her ability to help her students inspired me to become a teacher. This will be my fourth year with Rockwood, and I am excited to continue my journey at Crestview Middle School.

New Staff Spotlight!

Please help us welcome Kiran Singh as our new 6 Gold Science Teacher.

Hi! I’m excited to be joining Crestview as a 6th Grade Science teacher! I earned my Master of Arts in Teaching from Lindenwood University and have spent several years working in education in a variety of roles and settings. One of the things I love most about teaching is getting students curious about the world around them and helping them realize just how capable they are.

Outside of school, I love spending time outdoors, hiking, rollerblading, gardening, reading, and spending time with family and friends. I’m excited to be back in the Rockwood community and am especially looking forward to getting to know my students, their families, and the Crestview staff. I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a welcoming and diverse school community and can’t wait for the year ahead!

New Staff Spotlight!

Please help us welcome Dean Burroughs as our new building substitute teacher.

I earned both my bachelor's and master's degrees in business from Maryville University in just three years as a non-traditional student. Prior to that, I spent 30 years working in sales and retail before retiring. Following retirement, I joined the Crestview Middle School community as a custodian, allowing me to stay active while contributing to the school. Last year, I transitioned into substitute teaching and was subsequently offered a full-time substitute teaching position. This role has been an incredibly rewarding experience and has reinforced my passion for supporting students and educators.

My wife is also a valued member of the Crestview community, serving as the cafeteria manager. Outside of school, we enjoy following sports, particularly football. As a Wisconsin native, we are lifelong fans of the Green Bay Packers. We also have a daughter who lives in Arkansas and is looking forward to her wedding later this year.

Please help us welcome John Barrett as our new STEM Teacher!

My name is John Barrett, and I'm excited to join the community! My wife, Audrey, and I have been married for five years, and we have two amazing children. Our son, Russell, is three years old and getting ready to start preschool, and our daughter, Teddy who is one, loves shoes and climbing on just about everything she can find.

I graduated from Parkway West High School before attending the University of Missouri (Mizzou). I come from a family of teachers, so education has always been a big part of my life. Their passion for helping others inspired me to become a teacher, and I'm grateful to be continuing that tradition.

A few fun facts about me: I was an amateur ghost hunter in college, I've officiated two weddings, and I have a lot of respect for people who somehow make it through the day without drinking coffee! One of my favorite family traditions is baking something sweet whenever we get a snow day.

I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone and becoming a part of this community!

Please help us welcome Angie Simmons as our new Special School District Administrator!

Hi! My name is Angie Simmons and I am so excited to join the Crestview team! I live in South City with my husband, Jeff and 2 dogs. We love to travel, and theme parks are one of our many travel destinations! I've ridden almost 300 roller coasters all throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. I've had many incredible teachers over the years. Dr. Richard Overfelt has been influential to me as an educator -finding joy in the work, focusing on the important stuff, and celebrating others. In 2023, I graduated from Northwest Missouri State with my Educational Specialist degree. I've been in education for 22 years, 12 in the classroom and 10 in the professional learning division as a leader and coach. Looking forward to a great year!

Please help us welcome Ryan Landvoy as our new 8 Gold Math Teacher.

Hello there, I’m Ryan Landvoy and I’m pleased to be teaching 8th grade Math this coming school year. I’ve spent the past year and a half as a classroom assistant at Crestview and have so loved being part of the school community. When I’m not working I enjoy spending time with my wife Shannon, my daughters Anna and Gabby, and my three cats Salem, Bailey and Violet.

Please help us welcome Amanda Zurfluh, new ESOL teacher.

Hello, my name is Amanda Zurfluh. I will be joining Mrs. Carcamo as part of the ELD team at Crestview. When I'm not working, I love doing activities with my two boys and husband. Some of our favorites are fishing, swimming, and hiking. I love to read and cook. We have started traveling as a family. So far one of our favorite trips has been Gulf Shores, Alabama. I have taught at Rockwood for six years and was previously part of the Kehrs Mill Elementary team.
