Dutch Fork Church Preschool & Primary We are a half day preschool in Irmo for walkers to age 4K . We also have kindergarten, 1st Grade and 2nd Grade classes. Tuition is due by the 15th of each month.

Fees and Tuition

Registration fees are due at time of registration. Supply fees are due along with first month’s tuition payment. Checks should be written out to Dutch Fork Church (DFC). Tuition fees are averaged for the year and will be due no matter how many days your child attends.

Our first graders are learning that our community is the place where we live, work, and play. They are also learning about different people in the community, like first responders, who help keep us safe. On Wednesday, we had a firefighter visit our classroom. Mr. Watson taught us about fire safety, escape plans, and the gear he wears to stay safe. On Thursday, we had six police officers and four K-9 units visit our school. They taught us about collecting evidence, the canine’s keen sense of smell, and we even had the opportunity to peek inside their vehicle! We thank God for all of the brave men, women, and dogs who protect us and make our community a safe place to live, work, and play. We pray that God protects them and brings them home safely at the end of each shift.

Our kindergartners have been reviewing all their preschool skills. We have been going over letter and number recognition and shapes and colors. We love playing in centers with friends while building bridges, making shapes, putting together puzzles, matching dominoes and matching letters. We learned that shapes are all around us, even in our food. And we love playing games in PE. The kiddos made observations about what a summer day looks like then drew what they saw. We learned all about position words using Jesus and a cup. And we added our first acorn (100 books read)to our reading tree.

We had a wonderful week last week in 4K. We had a first Monday PE class, looked and learned about seashells, learned about sea animals, why the ocean is salty and how sand can be different colors. In science we painted with sunscreen to see how it protects us from be sun. We made homemade ice cream that was super yummy. We are beginning I learn the classroom routine and rules. We have read about Gods creation and how He made everything! We also had our first music class with Ms. Alyssa! So much learning and growing!!

Our sweet kindergarteners are making friends and learning the routines. Our class went on a summer ABC scavenger hunt, learned how to wash our hands and learned about lines with pool noddles. We added more leaves to our reading tree and we had fun in centers. We have been practicing our cutting skills and learning proper letter formation. We enjoyed worship and we had our first show and tell. We are off to a great start of the year!

The kindergarteners had an amazing first week of school. They are learning the rules and routines. They are learning about numbers and letters. And they have listened to many books including the creation story from the Bible. They had fun in PE and on playground. They explored many centers and made some art work. And we have already added a few leaves to our class reading tree. We also added our names to the cross to remind us of all Jesus has done for us. We are all looking forward to an amazing year!
