Civic Dance Center - Bakersfield, CA

Troupe Civic is for the dancer with aspirations of joining a college dance team, having a career in commercial dance, or with a professional company. During the season you will have the opportunity to attend a dance convention and compete in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, and Hip Hop styles. Through master classes Troupe Civic offers in studio introductions to industry leaders and the world’s top choreographers and will equip you with the highest level of technical training in an environment dedicated to mind and body fitness. Today is officially the first day of our 2026–2027 dance season at Civic Dance Center!

Whether you’re already back in the classroom, heading back to school later this week, or still holding onto those last few days of summer, one thing is certain: it’s time to get back to DANCE! 💙

We’re so excited to welcome our dancers back for a brand-new year of training, growth, artistry, friendships and performances.

New classes. New goals. New opportunities. And a whole new season ahead. ✨

Just like Cinderella racing to the ball in Once Upon A Time, summer has leapt away!

Our Summer Session ends this Saturday, and we’re getting ready for another magical year at Civic Dance Center.

Registration is now open for our 2026-2027 season!

In addition to our regular technique classes in ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, hip hop and modern, this season includes:
• Active Start classes for our youngest dancers ages 2-3
• Stretch & Conditioning
• Variations classes (Junior & Senior)
• Adult classes—including Modern, Ballet, Hip Hop and Tap

There’s a place for every dancer at Civic!

Christmas only comes once a year… unless you join us at Christmas in July.

Meet Clara, the Sugar Plum Fairy, and other beloved characters at an immersive dinner filled with performances, photo opportunities, treats, and family fun. Whether you’re a longtime Nutcracker fan or discovering the magic for the first time, it’s the perfect way to celebrate the season a little early.

Dress in your favorite festive attire and come be merry with us!

Every ticket purchased helps bring the live music to our annual production of The Nutcracker.
