Bakersfield College Swimming

Back from another long weekend of racing and couldn’t be more proud of these two guys. They showed up and made their mark at the 3C2A Swimming Championships. Taking 16th in the state and coming home with 4 New School Records and lifetime bests in all their individual races.
David Hernandez:
200 IM: 12th
100 Backstroke: 6th (School Record)
200 Backstroke: 7th (School Record)

Jacob Zimmerman
50 Free: 2nd
100 Fly: 7th (School Record)
100 Free: 15th
*He also broke the 50 Fly School record leading off his 100 Fly)

Jacob finished off Day 2 of the 3C2A Championships with 2 NEW School Records (100 Fly and 50 Fly) and a 7th place finish. He will be back at it tomorrow for the final day of competition competing in the 100 Free!

David capped off Day 2 of the 3C2A Championships with a 6th place finish and a NEW School Record in the 100 back. One more day of racing, starts tomorrow morning and David will be competing in the 200 Backstroke!

We had a great Day 1 at the 3C2A Swimming Championships. Jacob Zimmerman going a lifetime best and snagging a 2nd place finish in the 50 Free. David Hernandez dropping a lifetime best in the 200 IM and taking a 12th place finish. Both will be back at it for prelims tomorrow morning. David will race the 100 Backstroke and Jacob will be racing the 100 Fly.

We are back for another year! and will be hosting the 2026 Murph Challenge This year it will take place in the new Renegade Athletic Complex on Monday May 25th.

We are happy to welcome Angelina Diaz from West High School to the BC Swimming Family for the upcoming season!

They punched their ticket to the 2026 3C2A Swimming Championships! David and Jacob will both be swimming their 3 individual races next week in Costa Mesa as they take on the best of the best from the 3C2A.

Day 3 was a big one.

The team pushed us up to 6th overall on both the women’s and men’s sides, and it showed in every race.
