Possibilities Day ar California State University, Bakersfield today with all our Action Network and Interest Groups represented. New president Jeff Stoltz addressed the audience and also informed about Elder College and potential for “Out & About”. We also welcomed guest speaker Associate Professor Alice Hays who spoke of the upper education that many teachers require. It was noted that CSUB60Plus annually gives a scholarship to education/nursing.
Several handmade quilts were also given to Honor Flight Kern County who will be having a flight in April.
There were a few new members signing up today.
Donations were collected for the food pantry.
Also, after numerous years of 60+ volunteering at the California Well Sample Repository, our work had ended as all the samples have been logged and the facility needs updating for us to visit. Current Curator Rochelle thanked the Club for all the past work.
