The first day of school is here!
Like many students across Kern County, students and their families at the Richardson Center were welcomed this morning as they kicked off a new school year. After waving goodbye to their families, students headed inside with smiles and excitement, eager to see their teachers and begin the year ahead.

It was a morning filled with camaraderie and celebration as KCSOS employees gathered to kick off another school year at our annual Office Welcome.
This year’s “Celebrate With PURPOSE” event brought staff from across the organization together at the Dignity Health Theater & Convention Center for breakfast, a vendor fair and a program celebrating the people and collective work that make KCSOS special.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and to all of our employees for the work you do each day in service to students, families and school communities throughout Kern County.

Spirits were high as students and their families from across Kern County gathered at the Kern County Museum for the 17th Annual Ready-Set Back 2 School free community event!
Families connected with local organizations and community resources while students beamed with excitement as they picked out backpacks, school supplies, books, shoes, and more. Free dental cleanings also helped families prepare for a healthy and confident start to the new school year.
KCSOS was proud to be a part of this incredible community event, working together to help students start the school year with the resources they need to succeed!
