Email and call the Bakersfield City Council and demand that they vote to defund, divest, and demilitarize the Bakersfield Police Department!
What would this mean to “defund, divest, and demilitarize”? It would mean that instead of continuing to fund a corrupt militarized police force, funds would be allocated to: education, health, housing, and more!

And we WILL be holding folks accountable. “Black Lives Matter” is more than a conversation, it requires direct action. We will ensure those in power are acting against white supremacy while acknowledging, uplifting, and protecting Black lives, and Black futures. The time to act has always been NOW!
