Watch as a Black Belt student demonstrates the kicking drill for the class, followed by a 2nd Degree Blue Belt putting what she’s learned into action!
As students progress, they’re expected to move faster, react quicker, and execute with more control. The goal isn’t just to learn the drill—it’s to perfect it. 💪🔥
The more you practice, the more natural it becomes!

The Tae Ryong Taekwondo School of Bakersfield opened in November of 2008. Since Master Bang began his career as an instructor in 1998, he has been devoted to sharing his passion for Taekwondo with his students and helping them to achieve th
It’s more than just warming up! These drills help our Blue & Green Belts develop speed, agility, coordination, reaction time, endurance, and focus—all while learning to listen, react quickly, and keep moving even when the challenge changes.
Every drill has a purpose. Every rep makes them stronger. 💪🥋
Sometimes confidence starts with something as simple as believing, “I can do this.” 🥋❤️
When the target is a little too high, Master Bang is there to help our Tiger Tots reach it—not to do it for them, but to give them the support they need to experience success.
One kick becomes another.
One small accomplishment becomes confidence.
And eventually, they start believing they can do the things that once seemed too big.
That’s how we build confidence—one kick at a time. 🐯🥋✨
She stepped up to the Master Bang’s Martial Arts booth at the Heartland Back to School event and took on the board-breaking challenge! 🥋💥
A little hesitation… a big breath… and then CRACK! 👊🔥
There’s something special about watching a child realize, “I actually did it!” That moment of confidence is exactly why we love what we do. ❤️
Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth and gave Taekwondo a try! We loved meeting you all! 🥋
A little family fun at the Heartland Back to School event! ❤️🥋
This mom and her two daughters stepped up to the Master Bang’s Martial Arts booth and took on the board-breaking challenge! 💥
Three family members. Three boards. And lots of excitement as they gave it their best!
We loved getting to meet so many families from our community and give them a little taste of what we do on the mat. 🥋💛
Thank you to everyone who stopped by to see us—we had such a great time! 🎉
Would you try a board break with your family? 👇
Sophia is learning an important self-defense skill: creating space, using a strong voice, and getting away when someone is bothering her. 🛑🥋
Instructor Marcus stepped in for the drill, and Sophia gave him a push… a little TOO much push! 😂💨
The instructor goes flying, the target hits the floor, and Sophia immediately picks it up and hands it back like, “Here you go!” 😂
And just when we thought the lesson was over, Master Sons scooped her up and the squealing began! 🤣💛
Behind the laughs, Sophia is learning that self-defense starts with confidence, boundaries, awareness, and knowing when to get away.
Punch. Roll. Kick. Repeat! 🥋🔥
Our Tiger Tots are putting multiple skills together in one fun combination:
👊 3 punches to the X-ray target
🤸 Somersault
🥋 2 kicks
Drills like this challenge students to listen, remember the sequence, transition between movements, and stay focused from beginning to end.
One combination at a time, they’re building stronger coordination, confidence, and Taekwondo fundamentals. 🐯👏
Learning how to fall safely is a skill, too. 🐯🥋
Our Tiger Tots are practicing proper somersault technique—including how to tuck their body and protect their head while rolling.
These early movement skills help develop body awareness, coordination, balance, and confidence while teaching little ones how to move safely.
It’s not just about learning to kick and punch. We teach our youngest students how to control and protect their bodies, too. 💛🥋
Practice the movement. Build the reaction. 🥋💥
Our Master Program students are working through a self-defense combination that requires them to react quickly and keep moving:
👊 2 hammer fist strikes
🏃♂️ Move immediately to the next target
🥊 Jab → cross → body strike
Drills like this help students develop speed, coordination, accuracy, power, and the ability to transition quickly between techniques.
It’s not about standing still and throwing one technique at a time—it’s about learning to move, react, and stay focused. 🥋🔥
Punch. Punch. Punch. COVER! 🥋💥
Our Tiger Tots are learning that punching isn’t just about making contact with the target—it’s also about what happens after the punch.
They practice keeping their fists tight, throwing 3 controlled punches, and then bringing those fists right back up to protect their face.
These little repetitions help build proper technique, coordination, body control, and good defensive habits from the very beginning. 🐯👏
Small details now. Strong fundamentals later. 🥋💪
