Kern County is one of the top agricultural producers in the United States, and BC’s Ag program has been preparing students for careers in this industry for over a century. This facility is built to match that legacy.

We can’t wait for the next chapter to begin.

With 30 years of experience across NCAA Division I, II, NAIA, and professional sports - including 11 years with the Seattle Seahawks - Kennedy brings coaching excellence, administrative depth, and a genuine commitment to student-athlete success to BC Athletics.

Dr. Jessica Wojtysiak isn’t new around here. She’s been a professor, a dean, an associate VP, and our interim VP of Instruction. Today, we make it official: Dr. Wojtysiak is BC’s permanent Vice President of Instruction.
 
A Cornell grad with a doctorate in Educational Leadership from CSUB, Dr. Wojtysiak has spent her career expanding what’s possible for Kern County students…from rural access initiatives in Delano, Arvin, Wasco, Shafter, and BC Southwest, to baccalaureate degrees and brand-new medical school pathways right here at BC.
 
She already knows our students. She already lives out our mission. And she’s ready to lead. 🎓
 
Congratulations, Dr. Wojtysiak. This one’s been a long time coming.

She’s been showing up for Renegades since the day she arrived on campus as interim…and now it’s official. We are proud to announce that Dr. Stacy Pfluger has been named the permanent President of Bakersfield College. 🎓🔴

Dr. Pfluger was raised in a farming and ranching community in Central Texas. She holds a Doctor of Education from Texas Tech University and a Master of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of Notre Dame. She has dedicated her professional life to student success and opportunity, and we know that Bakersfield College’s future is bright under her leadership.

Welcome home, President Pfluger. 

Commencement is this Friday - and we’re expecting over 15,000 friends and family to fill up the stands! 🎓
