We would like to give a huge shout out to CPST Instructor Lauren Tremblay 📣
In the middle of our most recent Child Passenger Safety Technician certification course, the Car Seat Concierge family experienced a devastating and unexpected loss. Without hesitation, Lauren drove to Bakersfield and helped finish out the class, assisted at our seat check event and loaded up our travel trailer for our next course.
Lauren has been a CPST since 2015, and is a wealth of information on child restraint systems. We are so thankful to have had her as a partner for some of our larger classes, and today we are even more thankful to know such a kind and selfless woman in the world of child passenger safety. Thank you for being there for Car Seat Concierge, Lauren ❤️

Thank you to Kern County Public Health and California Office of Traffic Safety for hosting this course with us. We would also like to give a shout out to Community Action Partnership of Kern for allowing us to hold our seat check event at The Friendship House yesterday.
In total, over 20 seats left the event safer than they arrived.

Day 3 of CPST training is done for this class! We spent most of the day learning about forward-facing car seats: convertibles, combinations, all-in-ones, boosters, and integrated car seats. Did you know there were so many types of forward-facing seats? 🤯
After today, our students might tell you that there’s more to car seats than you think. Each seat may have a unique fit in any given vehicle— and even the same seat in the same kind of vehicle might be installed differently depending on the child and/or family’s specific needs. Theres so much that goes into a proper installation, and yes, it takes a good amount of effort and time. But we believe it’s worth every painstaking effort, because, when it comes to protecting our most precious cargo, no amount of effort is too much.
Our final day of classroom work is on deck for tomorrow and then Friday will bring our free community car seat check event! If you have a seat you would like to have inspected for proper use, plan to join us Friday morning at the Friendship House from 10am-2pm.
We’re always delighted to have students who clearly care about the quality of service they provide to their clients. This group is full of heart and we loving our time together! 🤍

Day 2 of CPST certification training. A little more foundational work, but finally a bit of hands-on car seat experience!
Today we really focused on general car seat basics— things like checking for recalls, expiration dates, and identifying the various types/parts of car seats. Tomorrow will be lots of hands-on work with car seats, including installations in vehicles— which is what you probably thought a car seat training would be from start to finish! Nope; gotta lay that foundation in order to know how to troubleshoot all the different issues that may present themselves in real-world scenarios.
Resting, trimming nails, and packing tissues & band-aids for day 3– just in case things get complicated.
