Along with her classical training, she showed an interest in music composition at a young age, and when she was 12 years old one of her arrangements was published in a national musicianship magazine. In her teen years, she also competed and preformed at multiple different MTAC conventions throughout the state, and completed all levels of Certificate of Merit. She then attended California Institute of the Arts majoring in Music Composition with a minor in Music Theory. Over the more recent years, she has preformed at various locations and events including the grand opening for the William M. Thomas terminal, the Bakersfield Museum of Art, Children to Love 20th Anniversary, the Padre Hotel, Cafรฉ Med, and many more. Today, she considers teaching piano and music her first love, and currently has over 10 years experience in doing so. Instruction by Ellie consists mostly of a classical genre with a heavy focus on Music Theory, although lessons are specifically catered to the individuality of the student and their interests. Blues, jazz and pop will be addressed, as well as different forms of learning, such as ear training and chord charts. Ellie hopes to bring awareness concerning the significance of the music language, as well as a love and ability to preform musically in her students.
