P-BVUSD has partnered with Walmart to host "Stuff the Bus", a school supply drive benefiting students at the Panama-Buena Vista Union School District!

School supplies may be purchased and dropped off at a P-BVUSD school bus at two of our local Walmart locations (5075 Gosford Rd, Bakersfield, CA 93313 and 6225 Colony St Bakersfield, CA 93307) from July 17- 19, 2024 between 7:30 am to 1:30 pm.

Well my friends...it has happened. The Dept of Real Estate has raised their examination and renewal fees. Effective July 1st, the State Exam will now cost $100 (previously $60) for sales person and $150 for broker (previously $90). But don't let that deter you from your goals!

Finding a Broker: Once you have your license, you'll need to hang it with a broker. You'll want to interview 4-5 different brokers as none are the same. You're looking for a broker who offers training, support, coaching, tools and some kind of marketing.

Build a Network: Networking is crucial in the real estate industry. Attend your company meetings/trainings, attend industry events, and connect with other professionals in the field.

Specialize: Decide if you want to specialize in a specific area of real estate, such as residential, commercial, or industrial properties. Specializing can help you stand out and attract clients.

Develop Skills: Develop strong communication, negotiation, and marketing skills. These skills are essential for success in real estate. The right broker will provide these tools.

Stay Updated: Stay informed about market trends, regulations, and changes in the real estate industry. Continuously educate yourself to stay competitive.

Market Yourself: Create a strong online presence through social media, a professional website, and online listings. Utilize marketing strategies to attract clients and build your reputation.

Provide Excellent Service: Focus on providing excellent customer service and building long-term relationships with clients. Satisfied clients are more likely to refer you to others and become repeat customers.

New Pre-Licensing course must be completed before registering for a State Exam testing date, if submitting application AFTER January 1, 2024.

Well...they're doing it again. Modifications to pre-license to statutory course requirements has been signed.
SB 1495 provides beginning January 1, 2024, all applicants for the real estate salesperson or broker examination will need to complete a real estate practice course, which includes the following:

A component on implicit bias, including education about the impact of implicit bias, explicit bias, and systemic bias on consumers, the historical and social impacts of those biases, and actionable steps students can take to recognize and address their own implicit biases.

A component on federal and state fair housing laws and their application to the practice of real estate, which also includes an interactive participatory component where the student role-plays as both a consumer and a real estate professional.
Over the course of the next year, DRE Education staff will work with DRE course providers, to ensure that real estate practice courses are updated to include the legislative requirements of SB 1495.
