EXPLORE is a free expanded learning program that offers 3 hours of enrichment for students in grades TK through 8, providing opportunities for academic support, creative activities, and skill-building beyond the regular school day. EXPLORE, formerly known as X-Factor, is a FREE 3-hour expanded learning program for 1st through 8th graders that provides:

Daily Snack, Supper, Homework Help, Physical Fitness & Recreation (Golf, Speed Cup Stacking Competition, Sports), STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) Activities, Arts (Dance, Drama, Arts & Crafts), Clubs (Rockets, Robots, Rubik's Cube, Sewing & Fencing, just to name a few). Some of the activities that will be offered this year include science clubs, talent shows, arts and crafts, sports and active recreation, technology opportunities and much more. We will continue to partner with North of the River Recreation & Park District, Kern Athletic Fencing Foundation, Girl Scouts, UC Cooperative Extension (Nutrition Education Program) and many other community organizations.

🏈 MEET THE 26/27 SMS FLAG FOOTBALL COACHING STAFF 🏈
Coach Nate • Coach Seba • Coach Chad

14 years of combined coaching experience. 5 sports. 3 coaches. 1 mission.

This fall, SMS Flag Football is bringing together a coaching staff with experience across football, basketball, soccer, track, and baseball. 🏈🏀⚽🏃⚾

But their experience goes beyond the sports they’ve coached. Together, they bring a passion for developing student-athletes, building character, and helping young people become better athletes, teammates, and individuals.

For this coaching staff, it’s about more than wins and losses. It’s about creating an environment where athletes can learn, compete, grow, and push themselves to become their best. 💪

With 14 years of combined coaching experience, our coaches understand that the lessons learned through sports can carry far beyond the field. Discipline. Teamwork. Resilience. Accountability. Confidence.

The goal is simple: develop athletes today and prepare them for the challenges of tomorrow.

🏐🏈 What a SUCCESSFUL first day of tryouts at SMS! 🎉

More than 300 students came out to join the fun for Volleyball and Flag Football! From big plays and great serves to plenty of energy, teamwork, and school spirit, our students brought their A-game. 💪🔥

We’re so proud of everyone who stepped out, gave it their all, and represented SMS with enthusiasm!

Day 1 was a huge success — and we’re just getting started! 🙌
