Baker High School's first band was during the school year of 1939-1940 and the band director was Miss Helen Roberts. Records show no other bands until the school year of 1962-1963. There have been many directors through the years: Dr. Stephen Miescer, Mr. Carl Rathke, Miss Suzanne Cobb, Mr. Earl E. Tagert, Mr. Gary Colbert, Mrs. Patricia Penland, Mr. Brian Brown, and Mr. Anthony 'Tony' Chiarito, t

he longest serving director beginning his 36th (and last) year with the 2017-2018 school year. Mr. Stuart Campbell, the current director, came to Baker beginning the 2019 school year. The "Sound of the Swamp" is known for its superior performances both on and off of the field. The walls of the music wing are decorated with pictures of students through the years and the band room shelves are heavily laden with trophies, awards, and recognitions earned. For over 100 years Baker School has served this community with academic excellence. It is a wonderful, K-12 community school where generations of Baker Gators have sent their own children and, we hope, will for many years to come.

Homecoming is coming up on September 30.
With the band preparing its Beatles show for competition this season, just wanted to revisit last years straight Superior season show, The Greatest Showman.
