16 Years Ago, the Vision Was Already Alive — NBHE Conference 2010

What a beautiful moment in the history of the National Black Home Educators.

Our 2010 NBHE Conference brought together outstanding national speakers, homeschooling families, parents, children, educators and friends from near and far. The rooms were filled with learning, fellowship, encouragement and a shared belief in the power of families to educate their children well.

Looking back reminds us that NBHE didn’t just arrive—we have been building, serving, equipping and encouraging families for more than 25 years.

Enjoy this look back at NBHE 2010—a beautiful chapter in a legacy that continues today.

The faces may change. The times may change. But the mission continues.

Among the more than 50 state homeschool organizations across the nation, the National Black Home Educators (NBHE) is honored to be the first to establish a legacy scholarship of this kind in memory of one of our own—Elizabeth Ellen Smith, a woman whose life exemplified service, faith, and a deep commitment to children and families. We hope this initiative will honor her remarkable life.
