Tuesday, July 21st, Decatur County School Nutrition traveled to Grady County for our annual GSNA District 2 PEP!

Around 375 school nutrition employees attended and received valuable information to help them go beyond just serving food

Please help us welcome Ms.Wattenbarger to the Bearcat Family! Joining our School Nutrition team, Ms.Wattenbarger is originally from Palm Beach County and enjoys boating, camping, fishing, and spending time outdoors. Her favorite thing about Decatur County is its family-oriented atmosphere. We're excited to have Ms.Wattenbarger on our team and look forward to the positive impact she'll make this school year!

We are proud of Marsha!

Please help us congratulate Marsha Carter for being named the 1st Quarter 2026 BEE Award recipient at Memorial Hospital and Manor! 🐝

Marsha was nominated by a patient family member who shared how much her kindness and compassion meant during a stressful and uncertain time. From the moment they arrived in the ER, Marsha provided a welcoming smile and calming reassurance that immediately helped ease anxiety.

One small but meaningful act that stood out was when Marsha gladly shared a charger so the family member could keep communication open with loved ones at home while staying by her husband’s side. Throughout the weekend, Marsha continued to greet them with a smile and wave each time she buzzed them into the hospital — simple gestures that became a bright light during a difficult experience.

The BEE Award recognizes team members who go above and beyond in living out our mission of delivering courteous, respectful, safe, and quality care to every patient, every time. Marsha’s compassion, thoughtfulness, and genuine care for others are a wonderful example of that mission in action.

Congratulations, Marsha, and thank you for the difference you make for our patients, families, and team every day! 💙

Summer Feeding is rapidly approaching. If you or someone you know would like to take advantage of our program, please share this information with them. Meals are available for all children ages 1-18. We look forward to seeing all of our student's smiling faces over the summer! *All meals must be consumed onsite*

Update: Due to unforeseen circumstances, we will only be offering Summer Feeding through June 25th. We will be serving meals Monday - Thursdays only.

The excellent lunchroom staff at JWP helped us celebrate Earth Day by making dirt cups for our students to eat at lunch. Our students were excited to see the chocolate pudding, crushed Oreos, and gummy worms for dessert. What a nice treat! Thank you to our lunch staff for being creative and putting a smile on the faces of our students.
