Mrs. Brewers Honors English students participated in a “Socratic Seminar” over the novel Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. This was a student-led discussion rooted from the ancient philosopher, Socrates. They discussed and analyzed characters, themes, author’s purpose, complex ideas, and connections to our modern society. The novel is all a warning on technology, short content, mass distraction, and censorship. Encouraging our students to be critical thinkers and engage with literature is a vital part of our English curriculum. Thank you Mrs. Brewer for pushing these students and expecting more.
