In honor of America’s 250th Birthday, BMS QUEST and Advanced Content students participated in a wax museum portraying historical figures who contributed to our country. Each grade level had a segment of our country’s timeline: 1776-1865 (7th Grade), 1866-1929 (6th Grade), and 1930-1979 (8th Grade). This interdisciplinary project involved extensive research, the creation of a background and props, an informational essay, and a video speech accessible by QR code.

📚💛 Calling All Daycare Providers in Decatur County! 💛📚
We want to partner with YOU!

Building strong readers doesn’t begin when children enter kindergarten—it begins with all of us working together from the very start. Decatur County Schools is excited to invite our local licensed daycare providers to a FREE community literacy event!

Join us as we share practical literacy strategies, hands-on activities, helpful resources, and ideas that you can take right back to the children you serve. We believe that when our schools, daycares, families, and community work together, we can make a lasting difference in early literacy. ❤️📖

📅 Saturday, November 14, 2026
⏰ 8:00–10:30 AM
