The success of the Bainbridge Schools Foundation comes down to one word: Community. A community that highly values education and that’s willing to step up and do whatever it takes to ensure our children get the kind of education that will lead to a better future for all of us. Without the efforts of the individuals and groups that make up our larger community: parents, alumni, island residents,

local business, and others, the Bainbridge Schools Foundation would not be successful. We hear over and over that people move to the island because of our strong public schools. Strong schools are the heart and soul of a good community and keep our property values high. Your donation makes a difference to the quality of education on Bainbridge Island. As we get ready for a new school year, we’re taking a moment to celebrate everything our community made possible in 2025–2026! 💙

Together, 651 donors helped BSF invest $548,472 in Bainbridge Island public schools, supporting academic intervention, adding hundreds of new library books, celebrating educators, and reaching students across all seven schools.

We are so grateful for our amazing community of supporters and can’t wait to see what we accomplish together this year!

Every school year tells a story, and this one is filled with generosity, gratitude, and meaningful support for students across all our schools.

Because of you, students received targeted academic support, educators brought new ideas into their classrooms, and nearly 700 new books found their way into school libraries across the district. Every act of generosity helped strengthen our schools.

Starting kindergarten is a big adventure! Join Bainbridge Schools Foundation for a fun afternoon where incoming kindergarteners and their families can meet new friends, enjoy snacks and cotton candy, play together, and start making connections before the first day of school.

Come meet future classmates from Blakely, Halilts, Mosaic, Odyssey, and Ordway, and begin building friendships across our community.

While this event is especially for incoming kindergarteners, everyone is welcome! Bring your siblings, neighbors, and anyone else who's up for an afternoon of summer fun.

The school year may be over, but we couldn’t pass up an opportunity to highlight and thank the amazing BISD academic interventionists who make a huge difference for students and families every day.

Through programs like Reading Club, students receive personalized support that helps build confidence, strengthen skills, and discover the joy of reading. The stories in this post are just a few examples of the impact these educators have on the lives of children across our schools. BSF funding helps support academic intervention programs across Bainbridge schools, ensuring students have access to the resources and encouragement they need to thrive.

As Bainbridge High School graduates, parents of Bainbridge alumni, and now grandparents of students in the district, Rick and Lisa Skelton have seen firsthand how strong schools strengthen an entire community.

BSF is proud to once again participate in Bainbridge Gives, Bainbridge Community Foundation’s annual community-wide giving campaign.

This year, BSF's Community Grants Cycle proposal focuses on academic intervention programs that provide additional support for students who need it most. These programs help students build skills, confidence, and a stronger foundation for learning, making a meaningful difference for children across Bainbridge schools.

We're grateful to Bainbridge Community Foundation, the community volunteers who review grant proposals, and everyone who supports local nonprofits through Bainbridge Gives. Learn more and give through June 12: bainbridgegives.org.
