Shannon is a second generation biracial Korean American, raised sansei by adoptive parents in a biracial Japanese American family. She got her first solo in her elementary school’s holiday program at the age of 8, singing the first verse of “So the Sheep May Safely Graze” and has performed music ever since. Her parents raised her on Big Band jazz and frequent trips to the theatre. After she and her brother received a bass guitar for Christmas when she was 10, she moved away from singing to instrumental music starting with the clarinet at the age of 11. After being selected to play in the California Band Directors Association Honor Band while in junior high school, she switched to alto saxophone at age 14, then to tenor saxophone at age 15 to play as a soloist in her high school jazz band. During this time, she taught herself how to play the piano and the flute. She went on to study Music Performance at Humboldt State University with Voice as her primary instrument and piano and flute as her secondary instruments and gave voice lessons in Arcata, CA. There she performed in the Mad River Transit Singers, the Madrigal Choir, the University Singers (where she had the opportunity to conduct as well), and in operatic, musical theatre and stage play productions at HSU, Humboldt Light Opera Company and Pacific Arts Center Theatre. She continued to do musicals and stage plays in Tustin, CA and later in Seattle, Bellevue, Renton and currently performs on Bainbridge Island & Seattle, WA. From college until now, she has regularly performed as a lead singer with jazz, funk and rock bands, and also played that bass guitar and sang with Seattle bands Shelix and Plains of Abraham. These days, she can be found performing locally in many different genres: Blues, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Brazilian, Latin, Jazz, Calypso, Rock, and Social Dance. Contact us at 206.465.9759 (text preferred) to book her for your next event! Offstage, she has worked as a Producer/Director/Music Director of BISA Vocal Studio’s collaborative Su***de Awareness and Prevention cabaret Unmasked, 13 the Musical at Rolling Bay Hall, Director (inD Theatre’s The Last 5 Years), Music Director (A Day on Mount Olympus) and Vocal Director (Doo W*p Wed Widing Hood) at Bainbridge Island School District's Odyssey Multiage Program, as a Music Director (W***y Wonka Jr.), Vocal Director (The Full Monty) and Theatre School Teaching Artist at Bainbridge Performing Arts. She is also credited as Producer/Casting Director/Actor for the series pilot of Uprising, n a finalist at the 4th Dimension Film Festival. Her theatre credits include Myra in inD Theatre’s inaugural production of Closed for Maintenance, Bridget Sullivan in LIZZIE The Musical at inD & Just Us Girls, Mrs. Banks in BPA's production of Mary Poppins, and she was recognized by BroadwayWorld Seattle's 2014 Best Featured Actress in a Musical (Local) for her role as Lucy in BPA's production of Avenue Q. Other local credits include Paul Lewis' plays One Night at the Hotel Barbary (Mrs. Maxwell) and My Beautiful Voyage (Agnes/Gladys) in Island Theatre's 10 Minute Play Festival , Little Shop of Horrors (Ronnette), Keiko Green's Experience Points in BPA's 2014 One Act Fest (Sailor Moon), Hansel & Gretel (Hansel), Cats (Bombalurina & Dance Captain) and Chicago (Go To Hell Kitty). She currently works as a professional actor, model, & voiceover artist with Autograph Talent (https://wearemam.com/). Her film credits include A Match Made at Christmas (Lori Everton), Write In Short (Jennifer), and Wood Witch: The Awakening (Margot Parker). About Our Students
BISA Vocal Studio Students range in ages from 7 years old to senior citizens and work on a wide range of music, theatre, and film. Some students have performed professionally, others in Mainstage and theatre school productions at Bainbridge Performing Arts, Ovation Performing Arts Northwest, school productions, talent shows, & local events and Seattle School of Rock & Rain City Rock Camp for Girls performances. Some are lead singers in bands, have their own solo acts, while others are members of community and school choirs & theatre groups. Others study with us to gain confidence enough to sing in the car or to their significant other as a special surprise. We are incredibly proud to be a part of our students' lives, watching them grow and foster a love of music and performance.

Great opportunity to work with a pro before auditions! This workshop will certainly be fun, educational, and filled with the incredible energy that Corinna brings!

Seattle-area actor friends, save the date! Sunday, September 20. My friend and Equity actor Corinna Munter is hosting a COME FROM AWAY Audition Workshop on Bainbridge Island right after she wraps up another run in the show as Hannah, this time at the Great Lakes Center for the Arts in Michigan!

Corinna made us all cry late last year and early this year at the 10th Anniversary professional production of COME FROM AWAY at Seattle Rep, and she also performed songs cut from the show in front of co-creator David Hein at the super fun Cut From Away benefit dinner and concert last December.

As many of you know, there are multiple upcoming productions of COME FROM AWAY in the Seattle area, and this workshop is a great way to work on songs from the show, the Newfoundland accent, and just meet other fun theatre people. More details are in the attached flyer.

This workshop will be held on Bainbridge Island during the afternoon of Sunday, September 20. The exact time and location are TBD. If interested, please contact Corinna at either [email protected] or WhatsApp (see the QR code on the flyer or click https://wa.me/qr/UO2RLOFK3HGJA1).
