Insight Climbing & Movement (formerly Island Rock Gym) provides the west sound with climbing, fitness, yoga and movement opportunities in our Bainbridge Island and Bremerton locations.

We had a blast running our summer climbing camps this year! Our week long camps have a little bit of everything: team building, games, obstacle courses, routesetting, snacks on the grass, and of course, SO MUCH CLIMBING!

We still have spots available in the last camp of the summer, from 8/24-8/28. Give us a call or sign up on our website!

When school starts up, we'll switch over to our after-school programming. We've expanded our offerings this year, and we have options for a variety of ages! Click the link in our bio to find out more and sign up!

Military Night is this Friday 8/21 at Insight Bremerton! From 6-9pm on the 3rd Friday of every month, active-duty military day pass plus rental gear is only $15 at our Bremerton location—come alone or bring your buddies. Thank you for your service and for being part of our community!

The new school year is right around the corner and with it comes the return of our popular after-school programs! We've got lots of options for ages 4 and up at both our Bainbridge and Bremerton locations. Sign-ups are now open so you can get a jump on your fall plans!

Our youth climbing programs offer an exciting way for children and teens to build strength, coordination, and problem-solving skills in a supportive environment. Led by experienced instructors, each session is packed with climbing challenges, games, and team activities that keep your kids active and social after school.

We've got seven new routes on the slab wall at Insight Bainbridge! Our setting team was hard at work yesterday setting, running, and refining a range of difficulties—from 5.6 to 5.12+. We can't wait to get on the wall and try them out!

🏋New fitness equipment incoming!🏋 You talked, we listened—big thanks to everyone who provided feedback during our Fitness Equipment Survey at Insight Bremerton! So far we've got new kettle balls, medicine balls, and jump ropes at our Bremerton location, and safety bars for weight lifting at both locations!

Thanks again for helping us update our fitness area to better serve our awesome climbing community. We appreciate you!💪

Shout out to Insight's awesome Youth Program Staff! Huge thanks to all of them for keeping summer camps fun and exciting (while managing them safely!). We've been hearing from parents all summer about how much their kids enjoyed their camp with us, and we couldn't do it without our excellent staff!

If you're interested in signing your kids up for a camp this summer, we still have spots left. Check out our website for dates and to sign up!

And congratulations to our recent graduates Bryn, Jonas, Kincaid, Liv, Gillian, and Bea as they get ready to start new adventures!

⚠️Traffic Alert⚠️ Due to the upcoming Bainbridge Rotary Auction, traffic on Sportsman Club Rd will be significantly affected from July 5 through July 11. Expect delays this week, as donation drop-offs occur daily from 8am - 7pm.

The Auction is on Saturday, July 11, at which point Sportsman Club Rd becomes one way headed south. Expect major back-ups from morning through the afternoon and plan for extra time getting to the gym. We will be open 10am - 5pm on Saturday with parking reserved for Insight customers!

💥Staff Member Highlight💥 This month we're re-introducing our Routesetting & Facilities Manager, Chris! From managing the gym to coaching the team, Chris has done it all at Insight—but these days he's mostly behind the scenes. Let's take a moment to catch up!

🎤How long have you been working at Insight Climbing & Movement?
🎲I’ve been working here at Insight for almost a decade (October of this year makes 10 years)!

🎤What do you love about working here?
🎮I’m happy to have contributed to keeping a vibrant climbing community going in Kitsap County and offering accessible climbing for the full range of folks who climb with us!

🎤What do you love about climbing?
📖I continue to enjoy how physically and mentally engaging climbing is for me. It’s great to have a form of exercise and physical activity that feels like fun and not work, and even though I’ve been climbing for a long time, it’s great to still be able to maintain that enthusiasm.

🎤What do you do to try to make the world a better place?
🧘‍♂️I try to think before I speak.

🎤What do you do when you're not climbing?
🗡When I’m not at the gym, I’m usually reading, playing video games and hanging out with family and friends.

🎤What are you nerding out on right now?
⚽I’ve been on a renewed Japanese model kit building spree since coming back from my last trip to Japan. Recently I’ve also been watching as much of the World Cup as possible. I’ve been playing/watching soccer for even longer than I’ve been climbing, so World Cup years are always awesome!
