Faith Beyond Borders: 38 Europeans Prepare for Ordination in Belgium
What would inspire someone to shave their head, wear a simple white robe, and leave behind the comforts of daily life?
On June 12, 2026, thirty-eight men from across Europe gathered at Wat Phra Dhammakaya Belgium to take part in a traditional hair-cutting ceremony, marking the beginning of their journey in the 11th European International Dhammadayada Ordination Program.
As their hair was shaved, they symbolically let go of worldly attachments and prepared themselves for a life of discipline, meditation, and spiritual growth.
Coming from different countries and backgrounds, these men share one common goal: to study the Buddha's teachings and cultivate inner peace.
Their journey reminds us that the Dhamma knows no borders. More than 2,500 years after the Buddha's enlightenment, people around the world continue to walk the path of wisdom, compassion, and liberation.
May their sincere efforts inspire others to cultivate virtue, develop their minds, and move closer to the ultimate peace of Nibbāna
