Close to 7,000 students attend Azusa Unified schools, which include right elementary, one middle, one comprehensive high school, one model continuation school, as well as an Adult School and Alternative Education school. AUSD encompasses 9.7 square miles of Azu
sa and parts of Covina and unincorporated Los Angeles County. AUSD is dedicated to the academic achievement of all students. The student-centered program emphasizes a curriculum aligned with California Standards, enrichment classes, and a commitment to educational technology. AUSD also offers a Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) program, special programs for at-risk students, and an extensive special-education program. Azusa Unified has high expectations for all students and provides support to help them meet those expectations. In addition to basic skills, great attention is given to advanced courses, electives, and vocational classes. The emphasis is on academic achievement and there’s a system for monitoring student performance that is tied to teaching objectives. Although the district mission is universal, each of our school communities is unique. As long as space is available, students may attend any school in the district. Selecting a school can be a difficult choice for parents. Please feel free to call any of our sites for more information. We are extremely proud of our schools, students, staff, and our very supportive community.
