When you’re on campus, a U-lock is your bike’s best friend.

Please view the following graphic to see how we recommend locking your bike; a U-lock is preferable.

Make sure to lock the U-lock around the bike’s frame and one of the wheels, securing it to a bike rack.

For an extra layer of security, be sure to register your bike with Campus Safety using the form on our website:

Last week, Campus Safety beat the heat with a sweet treat courtesy of Staff Council! ☀️ Stay cool and refreshed this summer. Don’t forget to prioritize your well-being – and maybe some ice cream!

Hot weather is here and heat stroke can happen fast. Here are quick tips to stay cool and safe:

💧 Hydrate — Drink water often, not just when you're thirsty
👕 Dress smart — Light and loose clothing helps regulate body temp
🌳 Take breaks — Rest in the shade or inside with A/C
☀️ Avoid peak heat — Try to stay indoors between 11am and 3pm
⚠️ Know the signs — Watch for dizziness, confusion, or dry skin
🚗 Never leave anyone in a hot car — After just 20 minute on an 80 degree day, the inside of a car can get up to 109 degrees Fahrenheit

Call 911 or Campus Safety right away if you or someone else shows symptoms of heat related illness.
