The Azusa Adult Education Center is buzzing as we kick off classes this week. Our students are back and ready to chase their goals — first-day excitement and a few nerves, but they show up no matter our years.

On Thursday, June 4th, Azusa Adult Education Center had its 2026 graduation and pinning ceremony at the Citrus College Haugh Performing Arts Center. It was a joyous occasion as students celebrated finishing high school diplomas, high school equivalencies, medical assistant, certified nursing assistant, phlebotomy, pharmacy technician, and medical billing and coding programs this academic year. The graduates and completed were cheered on by family, friends, and district personnel as they walked across the stage. Congratulations!

Our ESL students were recognized for their outstanding performance throughout the year. Students earned certificates for the number of hours completed, completing a level, most helpful, writing, and completing a high school program. We are proud of their effort to achieve their goals and be lifelong learners.

Please help me in congratulating the Azusa Adult Education Teacher of the Year, Mr. Harold Cruz. Mr. Cruz is our pharmacy technician instructor. In a short time, Mr. Cruz has combined his decades of experience in pharmacy and a student-first approach to teaching, creating a top-performing CTE program. Mr. Cruz is a tireless worker and advocate for students and the pharmaceutical industry. Take a bow Mr. Cruz.

The Job and Resource Fair was a great success, allowing job seekers and businesses to make valuable connections. More than 50 employers and resource organizations attended to assist attendees pursuing employment. We were delighted to have the Sierra High School audio engineering class provide music throughout the event.
