During our District-Wide Community Building Day today, Hodge students participated in classroom community circles, creating space to connect, listen, and learn from one another. Parents also came together for a meaningful circle and a potluck filled with good food and great connections. From our classrooms to our families, we were reminded that belonging is something we build together. When every voice is valued and every person feels seen, heard, and connected, our community grows stronger. 💛

We had so much to celebrate at Hodge today! 🐾

We recognized some of our amazing teachers and staff who have been part of the Hodge family for 10+ years! Thank you for your dedication, love, and all the years you’ve poured into our students and our school. We appreciate you! 💙

🏆 Congratulations to Mrs. Sanchez and Ms. Escalante’s classes for winning our September Classroom Attendance Trophies! Keep showing up, being on time, and ready to learn!

The Hodge Litterbug Club is back! 🌎🐞 This morning, our student-initiated Litterbug Club started back up! This year's club started in second grade, when students were challenged to think about a change they would like to make in their community. One student had a great idea: help Mr. Patrick keep our school clean! That idea turned into action, and the Litterbug Club is officially back in business! 💪
Students who arrive at school at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesdays can join the crew and help care for our campus before the school day begins.
We love seeing our Cougars recognize a need, come up with a solution, and take action to make their community better. That’s student leadership in action! 🐾💙

September is Attendance Awareness Month, and what better way to celebrate than with a surprise attendance party for our amazing students! 💙💛

We are so happy to see our students at school, on time, and ready to learn each day! We wanted to end September with a little extra fun and celebrate all their hard work.

Teamwork in action! 🤝 Our 4th graders are building community and strengthening their teamwork skills through weekly activities designed to help them communicate, collaborate, and work together. This week’s challenge: hold hands and work as a team to keep the balloon in the air! 🎈 It took communication, cooperation, problem-solving, and a whole lot of teamwork.
Activities like these remind us that a strong classroom community doesn’t happen by accident—it grows when students learn to listen to one another, support each other, and work together toward a shared goal. 💙 We’re stronger when we work together, Cougars! 🐾

During Lunch Bunch this week, our students celebrated Attendance Awareness Month by sharing what makes school a place they want to be! Students added their ideas to our poster by completing the sentence:
✨ “I am in school, ready to learn because…” ✨
Their answers reminded us that school is about so much more than academics—it’s about friends, learning, teachers, activities, belonging, and being part of our school community. 🐾
September is Attendance Awareness Month! We encourage our Hodge families to work toward great school attendance—95% or higher—so students can be present, connected, and ready to learn. Every school day is another opportunity to learn, grow, connect, and be part of our Cougar community! 💙

What a fun day yesterday! Our Cougars celebrated an incredible $13,000+ raised through our PTA-sponsored fundraiser with a fun-filled Bubble Run! 🎉
Every dollar raised will help our awesome PTA support field trips, activities, and special experiences for our students throughout the school year! 🚌🎨🎉

💙 Our first Principal’s Coffee & Tea was a wonderful way to start the year!
Our amazing principal, Mrs. Flores, shared the importance of good attendance and how showing up every day helps set our students up for success. 📚✨
Mrs. DeRosas shared more about Community Schools, the programs and resources available to support our families, and ways parents can get involved at Hodge. We also welcomed a guest speaker from Homework House, who shared information about the support and services they provide to students and families.
And we had a very special guest! 💛 Our Superintendent, Dr. Guillermo Lopez, stopped by to introduce himself, welcome our families, and join us for our first gathering of the year.

⭐️ Our First Friday Assembly!⭐️
What a great way to kick off our first Friday Assembly of the school year!🎉
We started with the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by our Cougar Chant, and then celebrated some of our amazing students! Students turned in their Positive Behavioral Tickets, and we recognized our Students of the Month for showing outstanding Cougar Pride! And Congratulations to Mrs. Robbins and Ms. Escalante's classes for winning the perfect attendance trophies! 🎉
We also learned about our first PTA-sponsored Bubble Run Fundraiser! Our PTA does so much to support our students—from helping fund field trips to providing extra goodies and experiences throughout the school year.💫 Keep an eye out for your Bubble Run packet coming home!
Thank you to our students, staff, and PTA for making our first assembly such a fun and positive celebration of our Hodge community!
