Framed like the popular television show, Shark Tank, eight student-finalists will pitch their business ideas to a panel of venture capitalists and entrepreneurs on November 18th. The top three competitors will receive $15,000, $3,000, and $2,000 to launch or grow their business ventures. The participants consist of members of ZuVenturez, a new university program that seeks to activate entrepreneur
ial excellence at Azusa Pacific University. Launched in the spring of 2014 and sponsored by the Office of the President, ZuVenturez creates a platform for students to pitch their socially innovative ideas to outside investors and entrepreneurs. ZuVenturez also provides a seven-week workshop to support students while transforming student’s vision and igniting their passion for their business. After learning from some of the best entrepreneurs in the business, student will plan their business, budget their finances, and craft their pitches. The workshops begin on Thursday, September 25th in Wynn Academic Center Room 2 at 7:30pm. Undergraduate and Graduate students from all disciplines are welcome to participate. Friends, parents, alumni, and students are welcome to watch the finale on November 18th where students will compete for the chance of a lifetime.
