Never a dull moment in 3rd grade! 😂💙

This week, my students were WAY more excited than I ever expected to be writing… a poem for a PICKLE! 🥒✏️😂 Who knew a pickle could inspire so much creativity?!

And if pickle poetry wasn’t exciting enough, our butterflies have officially arrived! 🐛🦋 We’re getting to watch the life cycle happen right in our classroom while learning about each stage along the way.

Between pickle poems and raising butterflies, you truly never know what a day at school will bring! 😂📚🦋🥒. Love this job!

🎶 “Making my way downtown, walking fast…” 🎶

This week while my students were working through a particularly challenging math standard, one of them suddenly started singing, “Making my way downtown…” and I couldn’t help but smile.

But the more I thought about it, the more perfectly it fit the moment.

Learning is a lot like making your way somewhere new. You may not know exactly how you’re going to get there when you start. You might take a wrong turn, have to slow down, retrace your steps, or ask someone for directions—but you keep moving.

And sometimes, we make hard things feel harder because we’re so focused on getting the right answer that we forget to enjoy the journey of figuring it out.

So that lesson, we just kept “making our way”—one number, one problem, and one step at a time. And somewhere along the way, that difficult math didn’t seem quite so difficult anymore. 💙

Sometimes learning really can be as simple as making your way downtown. 🎶

What better way to end the week than with some fresh air, sunshine, and FUN! ☀️🎉

Our class had the best time outside today celebrating all of the hard work that went into our school fundraiser! I loved seeing these sweet kiddos laugh, play, and enjoy some well-earned time together. 💙

We are so thankful for everyone who supported our school and helped make our fundraiser a success!
