Good Evening Angel Families,
This is your Principal, Ms. Davis, with your first week of school announcements. Thank you to all of our Angel families who attended Open House. We are looking forward to our Kindergarten Meet the Teacher Night this Wednesday Aug. 26th from 5:30-7:00pm
The first day of school is Monday, Aug. 24. Buses will unload at 7:15. Car Riders will drop off starting at 7:25. Dismissal begins at 2:30. Buses usually depart campus no later than 2:40. Our car rider lines are quite lengthy the first couple of weeks. Please be patient the first few weeks as we work to improve the timing and efficiency. For safety purposes, please make sure your child exits and enters the vehicle on the passenger side.
Bus information has been posted online on the school page. Please be patient with changes over the first few weeks. Please be outside and visible at your stop 10-15 minutes before the estimated time of arrival.
New car rider tags must be obtained for the 2026-2027 school year. We will utilize the same car rider system as last year, where students are dismissed by tag number. We will work to assign numbers over the first two days in the car line. Thank you to those who already picked up your car rider tags at our open house. There are no changes to our drop off and pick up procedures this year. Reminder for afternoon car rider parents: once the traffic snake is full at Ayden Elementary, cars will line up across the street at Ayden Middle School. Ayden Police Department will help direct traffic and help our new parents with the traffic pattern.
For student safety, student check-outs/sign-outs are not permitted after 2:15 pm unless a check-out has previously been arranged with the front office (ie; Doctorβs appointment). Additionally, all transportation changes must be submitted in writing prior to 1:00pm. Anyone checking out a student must be on the studentβs pick-up list and a photo ID.
In compliance with HB959/SL2025-28, Ayden Elementary requires that cellphones are turned off and in backpacks between morning and afternoon bells. Students may wear smartwatches, but wireless connections must be disabled and communication is prohibited.
Breakfast & Lunch will be free for all students this year.
A reminder to Kindergarten Parents- we will be utilizing a three-day staggered start:
Monday: Last names A-H
Tuesday: Last names I-Q
Wednesday: Last names R-Z
Thursday: All kindergarten students attend
All kindergarten students and any students who enrolled from out of state or a private school, your health assessments and immunizations are due within the first 30 days of school. Please contact our data manager, Mrs. Miller, with any questions.
Parking is limited and safety is a top priority. Pre-K staggered start dates have been shared by our Pre-K teachers. After Independence Day, parents will not be allowed to walk their child to class. We will have plenty of staff to help- we know they can do it!
Early Bird will be from 7:00-7:15 on scheduled school days. Drop-off is by the back of the cafeteria- please enter off of Jolly Rd. The cost of early bird is $5.00 a week and must be prepaid by the Thursday of the week before using the school cash online payment system. This will be available starting Aug. 19th. You will be able to pay for a variety of items this year utilizing this payment system. This is a secure method to pay school fees, early bird, field trips and other items. Additionally, you can associate your payment directly with your child. School fees and tech fees are $25 combined. We rely on school fees to help fund a variety of incentives and supplies for students!
