We are so grateful to the Class of 2024 for their generous donation of new playground equipment to our school including basketballs, footballs, kickballs, volleyballs, jump ropes, and blu tracks. The kids are loving the new options!

Freddie the pumpkin will be a guest in our library this year. We are going to study the life cycle of a pumpkin. Watch him decay and regrow right before your eyes.

The Science Behind the Slime:
• Decomposers at Work: Microscopic fungi (mold) and bacteria feed on the pumpkin, breaking down its organic matter.
• Gas Production: As it decomposes, it releases gases. You might notice the jar walls fogging up or sweating!
• The Circle of Life: The decaying pumpkin provides nutrient-rich food for its own seeds helping new sprouts grow.

The APS library is in need of a couple of potholder weaving looms and hooks (old crochet hooks will also work). If you happen to have any you are willing to donate, please send them to school.
