🔬🌎 Science, collaboration and big ideas!

Our Chief Science Officers (CSOs) participated in the SciTech Youth Solutions Summit on Saturday, September 12, connecting and collaborating with CSO students from around the world! 🌱🤖

Students worked in small groups and explored topics including the importance of herbariums, participated in a Zooteens session with the Phoenix Zoo, and discovered how AI is transforming environmental science.

We love seeing our student leaders learning, connecting and exploring solutions for the future! 🚀

In partnership with Southwest Human Development, sessions will be held at Lattie Coor School on Thursdays from 4–5 p.m., beginning September 17. The program is open to all Avondale ESD families!

Students in Ms. Watkin’s class brought multiplication to life by building and using arrays to represent multiplication facts! Through hands-on learning, students worked together, explored mathematical ideas, and made meaningful connections that helped turn numbers into something they could see, understand, and apply. 📚🧮💡

Their classroom was filled with curiosity, collaboration, and the confidence that comes from learning alongside others. A big shoutout to Ms. Watkin and her students for making math engaging, interactive, and fun! 🎉👏

By analyzing real-time news reports personal accounts and historical documents, students analyzed how the American perspective shifted and evolved throughout the pivotal day. 🔎📜 It was inspiring to see our sixth graders think critically, analyze evidence, and practice true historical thinking. 💡🧠👏

🏈✨ TEAMWORK TAKES THE FIELD! ✨🏈

This week, students took the field during PE for an exciting 4-way flag football game, bringing energy, teamwork, and plenty of school spirit to the action!

From cheering on classmates to working together and showing off their athletic skills, students created a space where everyone could feel included, connected, and part of the team. 💙🙌
