🎶 E-I-E-I-O… What could be better than a trip to the farm? Having the farm come to you! 🚜🐐🌽

One of the greatest gifts we can give children is the opportunity to experience the world firsthand. While books and pictures introduce new ideas, real-life experiences bring those stories to life. Those connections become the foundation for stronger language development, richer vocabulary, and improved reading comprehension as children grow.

This week, our campers were treated to a special visit from the farm! They met friendly farm animals, learned about life on the farm, asked thoughtful questions, and explored with all of their senses. The excitement on their faces said it all.

At Tick Tock, we believe children learn best through hands-on experiences that spark curiosity and wonder. Every adventure—whether in our classrooms or right outside our doors—helps build the background knowledge children will draw upon for years to come .

Because when they later read about a goat, a sheep, or a chicken in a book, they won’t just imagine it… they’ll remember petting one, hearing their sounds, and smiling the whole time. ❤️🐓🐑

It can be hard to part with your children’s belongings. Each toy holds memories of a childhood that seems to pass far too quickly. But there is something incredibly special about knowing those treasured toys can help create new memories for another child.

At Tick Tock Early Learning Center, we happily accept donations of current, high-quality toys and learning materials that are in excellent condition. This adorable farmers market set was recently donated, and the moment we saw it, we knew it had to be part of our Summer Camp Farm Week!

Set up in a dramatic play area, the children spent days planting, harvesting, organizing, shopping, and selling fresh “produce.” Through imaginative play, they practiced communication, problem-solving, teamwork, early math, and literacy skills—all while having an absolute blast. It was the perfect way to prepare for the children’s very own farmers market a few days later… and we can’t wait to share more about that soon! 🌽🍎🥕🥬

At Tick Tock, we believe some of the most meaningful learning happens through hands-on play. When you donate your family’s gently loved toys, you’re not simply clearing out a playroom—you’re giving those cherished items a second life and giving dozens of young learners the opportunity to imagine, discover, create, and make memories of their own.

Happy Fourth of July from all of us at Tick Tock Early Learning Center! ❤️🤍💙

Today, we celebrate the freedoms that have shaped our nation and honor the generations who have worked to protect them. We also recognize that the promise of liberty and opportunity for all is something we must continue striving toward together.

Every day at Tick Tock, we have the privilege of seeing that brighter future taking shape. In classrooms filled with curiosity, kindness, resilience, and joy, our children remind us that the next generation is capable of incredible things. They teach us to ask questions, include others, celebrate differences, and believe that tomorrow can be even better than today.

As we celebrate Independence Day, we are grateful for the opportunity to help nurture the leaders, helpers, innovators, and neighbors of tomorrow. Our students remind us every day that our future is bright.

These beautiful flower arrangements were lovingly created by our students with guidance from the amazing members of Spade and Trowel Garden Club who donated their time and materials to help each child design a special gift for someone special on Mother’s Day.

We planned to share them weeks ago but somewhere between spring events, end-of-school celebrations, and launching summer camp, this post got buried in our to-do list.

Just like at home, caring for children can be messy, busy, exhausting, wonderful, and sometimes a month behind schedule!

As families gear up to celebrate Father’s Day this weekend, we’re taking a moment to honor all the parents and caregivers who help our children grow, bloom, and thrive.

Happy Mother’s Day (a little late). Happy Father’s Day (right on time). And thank you, Kennett Square Spade and Trowel Club, for helping our children create something beautiful. 🌷

The children arrived on Monday expecting summer camp…

They didn’t expect to meet a mama guinea pig and her babies!

Over the next few weeks, our campers will learn about responsibility, empathy, and animal care. Safe to say, our newest guests have already stolen the show! 💕

🎓✨ We celebrated a very special milestone as our Pre-K class graduated and prepared to take their next big step into kindergarten!

These children have grown in so many incredible ways during their time at Tick Tock. We’ve watched them learn, explore, build friendships, gain confidence, and discover just how capable they are. From their first days in the classroom to this exciting moment, they have filled our center with laughter, curiosity, and joy.

To our graduates: We are so proud of you! Keep asking questions, dreaming big, and believing in yourselves. The future is bright, and we can’t wait to see all the amazing things you will accomplish.

To our families: Thank you for trusting us to be part of your child’s early years. It has been an honor to learn, grow, and celebrate alongside you.

Today is the National Day Without Child Care - a movement shining light on the essential role child care plays in supporting families, businesses, and our entire community.

While Tick Tock ELC does not close our doors on this day, we proudly stand beside educators, providers, and advocates across the country who are raising awareness for the challenges families and the child care industry face.

Every day, child care professionals make it possible for parents to work, businesses to operate, and children to learn, grow, and thrive. Yet too many families struggle to afford care, and too many educators are underpaid for the incredibly important work they do.

Child care is not babysitting - it is workforce infrastructure.

Today, we support the movement, the message, and the people working tirelessly to build a stronger future for children, families, and our communities.
