Reminder! City Schools of Decatur’s upcoming Early Release Day is Wednesday, August 26, 2026.

Here is the schedule of release times by school level:
Pre-K: 12:15 PM
Lower Elementary: 12:50 PM
Upper Elementary: 12:15 PM
Middle School: 1:45 PM
High School: 1:35 PM
College Heights ECLC: 0-3 program will remain on the normal schedule

The remaining early release dates are listed below:

We are so excited to connect with you for Curriculum Night this evening (8/20)!

💡 What You Need to Know

Schedule: Access your child’s schedule via the parent portal so you know where to go.

Security: All guests will enter through our weapons detection system at either the main entrance on College Avenue or the Bus Loop entrance on Kings Highway. To help expedite the screening process, please be mindful of the items you bring into the building and, whenever possible, refrain from bringing bags.

Syllabus Access: Teachers have shared their syllabi by now (with just a few rare exceptions). You can access the direct link here

Questions or Support? If you have any specific questions about a course or expectations, reaching out directly to your student’s teacher is always the best first step.

We are kicking it off this school year with the first annual Beacon After Dark, presented by DEREK WOOD Realty, an adults-only evening benefiting the Beacon Hill Middle School PTA!

We are kicking off our Fall Dances with the 6th Grade Dance - presented by Quest Orthodontics - on August 28th 4:00-5:30! Students will report to the cafeteria directly from their Advisements. Please send cash (small bills) or tap to pay if your student would like to purchase concessions.

Cheer On Your School Mascot at the Third Annual CSD Mascot Run, August 14!

Come out to cheer on your school mascot on Friday, August 14, during the first DHS home game of the season. The game starts at 7 p.m., and the run will take place during halftime. Plus, long-time Decatur Bulldog Booster sponsor Keller Knapp Realty is giving away cowbells for fans, so get ready to make some noise for your school and your Decatur Bulldogs!

Lower- and upper-elementary students get free admission with a paying adult. Please note that DHS has a clear bag policy.
