DeKalb School of the Arts A 2009 National Blue Ribbon School that began as the DeKalb Center for Performing Arts (DCPA) magnet

DSA provides each student with a comprehensive education inclusive of special knowledge and experience in the arts and develops the discipline, appreciation and achievement necessary for student’s academic, professional and personal goals. In addition to a full complement of academic subjects, students are offered drama, dance, vocal and instrumental music, visual arts, video technology, creative

writing, multimedia and design & production. A large number of students participate in the gifted, advanced, and advanced placement programs of study.

Today teachers Mr. Wargowsky, Ms. Jacobs-Licht & parent Tiffany Stone became School Master Gardners after a year long class with Fernbank Science Center & UGA Ext. What a lovely asset for DSA, and on our way to DSA getting STEAM Certification. Ms. Stone is the leader of the DSA Parent Volunteer Garden Club to help DSA’s grounds to become magical!! Join her! Mr. Wargowsky runs the ECO Club, which has a subsection of garden club, which is cohosted with Ms. Jacobs-Licht. Last meeting of the year is this Thursday May 14th 3:30- 5:00. We will be planting sweet potatoes 🍠 & pumpkins 🎃.
