At Curatola Masonry, I don’t have a single mason making less than $30 per hour. Some of our masons have only been in the trade for four years. The difference isn’t just the hourly rate—it’s consistent, year-round work.

Our team regularly works 50 to 60 hours per week, with 10 to 20 hours of overtime almost every week. That means our masons aren’t making $30 an hour—they’re earning well over $100,000 per year because they have the opportunity to work, learn, and grow.

Here’s the math:

* $30/hour × 40 hours = $1,200/week
* 20 hours overtime at $45/hour = $900/week
* Total weekly pay = $2,100
* Annual earnings (52 weeks) = $109,200

That’s before advancement opportunities, increased wages, and additional leadership responsibilities.

Say what you want, but if you can’t show me a W-2 with six figures at the end of the year, you’re probably talking more about perception than reality.
