This summer, these waste wizards worked 30 events over 94 days, helping divert waste and make a difference across Eagle Valley. 💚

🌿 Actively Green Spotlight: Betty Ford Alpine Gardens

What does sustainability look like in an alpine environment? At Betty Ford Alpine Gardens, it’s built into everything they do.

From tracking water use and turning off water features during droughts to using a green roof that reduces energy use and water runoff, the Gardens put conservation into action.

Their commitment extends to events and programming, too, through composting, recycling, plant-based menus, and an annual goal to reduce electricity and water use by 5%.

Most importantly, the Gardens use education to connect people with alpine ecosystems and inspire a deeper appreciation for conservation in the place we call home.

The learning doesn’t stop when the sun goes down! 🌙🌲

On our two-day overnighters, students learn science from the land, cook meals for their friends, explore outside, and make memories alongside their classmates.

From days spent learning from the land to evenings together under the stars, there’s something special about stepping outside the classroom and experiencing it all together. 🏔️🥾🍳

That’s a wrap on our Adopt-a-Trail workdays! 🛠️🥾

Hours of hard work, dirt, and great team effort paid off. The Avon Overlook Trail and Buck Creek Trail at Walking Mountains look spectacular.

A huge thank you to our incredible staff and volunteers for their dedication to outdoor stewardship and keeping our local spaces thriving.

And a massive shoutout to Vail Valley Mountain Trails for guiding us, providing expert leadership, and making this all possible!
