The Acorn Childcare Center has been serving the community since 1985. We were one of the first daycare centers in Ohio to have an intergenerational program. Intergenerational Childcare is based on the premise that it is natural for children to encounter people of all ages as they grow and to participate in activities with them. The Acorn Childcare Center provides cares for Infants, Toddlers and Preschoolers! If you would like more information about the center please give us a call at 440-934-5709. Our residents have a wealth of experience and love to share with our children. The babies, toddlers and children enrich our residents lives with naive innocence and playfulness that at times we often overlook or take for granted.

What a wonderful time we had at the Pumpkin Patch Play Date hosted by Lorain with Littles at Donald A Schuster Greenhouse 🧡
From exploring the pumpkin patch to enjoying story time, crafts, and hands-on activities, the day was filled with smiles, laughter, and opportunities to reinforce what our little learners are discovering right here at Acorn Childcare! 🌱📚🎃
We love sharing opportunities that bring learning beyond the classroom, encourage meaningful family experiences, and connect our families with the wonderful resources and organizations in our community.
A special thank-you to Ms. Terese from , who generously gifted one of our Acorn families an autographed copy of her newest book, Skelly T. Bones & Nami Do Yoga, as a raffle prize! 📖💕
And a huge thank-you to Lorain with Littles for organizing such a fun-filled community event and to Donald A Schuster Greenhouse for hosting!

🌳 Acorn Childcare Center is excited to host the Early Care & Education Network! 🌳

We’re looking forward to welcoming fellow early childhood professionals to Acorn on Wednesday, October 21st at 3:00 PM! 💛
These network meetings are a great opportunity for childcare owners, directors, teachers, administrators, and other early childhood professionals to connect, discuss what’s happening in our programs, ask questions, share ideas, and learn about resources available throughout our community.

🌳 Little hands, big discoveries at Acorn Childcare! 💦

Our teachers have been embracing our new Teaching Strategies curriculum, bringing purposeful, hands-on learning into our classrooms!

During our “Squeezing Sponges” activity, children explored water and colorful letter sponges while practicing squeezing and grasping to strengthen their fingers, hands, and fine motor skills. The letter-shaped sponges also offered a playful introduction to letters as children explored alongside their friends. 🧽🔤

We’re proud of the care and creativity our teachers bring to these learning experiences—helping our little acorns grow through play, curiosity, and discovery! 🌱

Tomorrow from 6:00 AM–9:00 AM, we’ll have coffee and a light grab-and-go breakfast available in the lobby for our parents.

🌳 Acorn in the Community!
We had such a wonderful time at the Itty Bitty Playhouse event! 💚 It was great seeing some of our current Acorn families, meeting new families in the community, and having the opportunity to share more about everything happening at Acorn Child Care Center.
We’re especially excited to continue growing our involvement in the Avon community through our partnership with Early Childhood PTA. Thank you to Bitty Playhouse for hosting such a fun evening and giving local families and community partners a chance to connect!
This is only the beginning — we have more community events and family activities coming up throughout the year, and we’re looking forward to seeing even more familiar faces along the way. 🍂

Acorn families, please note that Acorn Child Care Center will be CLOSED on Monday, September 7, 2026, in observance of Labor Day.
We hope all of our families and staff enjoy a safe, relaxing, and well-deserved holiday! 💛
