Which room in your house is doing a job you never gave it?
The dining room that became the mail room. The guest room storing things for someone who moved out in 2019. Nobody decided this, it just happened one reasonable choice at a time.
Worth asking what you’d actually use that room for if it were empty tomorrow.

Be honest, you just thought of something specific.
The bread machine. The yoga mat still in plastic. The language books from that one very ambitious January.
Nothing’s wrong with any of it. You wanted something, and that wanting was real. But the stuff isn’t proof, and keeping it doesn’t keep the plan alive.
You changed. That’s allowed.

No shame in the drawer. 🙃
Every house has one and it's honestly kind of charming. The garage doing the same thing at 10x the scale, though? That's a different conversation. That's when it's time to call in backup. 📞✨

You don't need a plan. You don't need a system. You don't need to watch one more video about decluttering.

Grab a trash bag. Set a timer. Walk around your house and just look for trash.

That's it. That's the whole strategy.

One of the biggest traps people fall into is spending so much time reading and researching that they never actually start. Starting IS the hard part. So make starting as easy as possible.

Trash bag. Timer. Go.

What room are you starting with? Drop it in the comments.

Clutter has a price tag, even though nothing about it looks like a bill. It’s the storage unit you’ve stopped noticing on your bank statement. It’s the phone charger you bought again because you couldn’t find the three you already own. It’s the twenty minutes lost most mornings searching for keys, paperwork, or the one folder you actually needed.
None of it shows up as one dramatic expense. It shows up as a slow, steady leak, easy to ignore because each moment feels small on its own.
Add it up over a year and the number tends to surprise people. Storage fees alone can run well over a thousand dollars annually for units that mostly hold things people forgot they owned.
You don’t need to overhaul your whole house to stop the leak. You just need to know it’s there.
Swipe through, then be honest: do you know how much your clutter is costing you?

Here's the only question you need to ask about a sentimental item.

How do you feel when you look at it?

If it makes you think of a great memory, someone you love, a time that made you smile -- keep it. That's easy.

But if what you feel is guilt. Obligation. A heaviness. A weight you can't quite name. That feeling is telling you something.

And here's the thing -- even if it's tucked away in the attic, your brain and body know it's there. You're carrying it around whether you realize it or not.

You're allowed to only keep the things that feel good.

Save this if you've got a box somewhere that you've been avoiding.
