π¦ Stella at the Library This Summer! πβοΈ
Stella has been busy learning and growing at Avon Elementary, and this summer is the perfect time to keep those reading adventures going!
The Highlands County Libraries are hosting their 2026 Youth Summer Reading Program, "Reading is Rawr-some!" for children and teens ages 0β18. Families can register at any branch, set reading goals, earn prizes, receive free books, and be entered for grand prize drawings throughout the summer.
Even more exciting, each library branch is offering fun dinosaur-themed activities, crafts, sensory experiences, parties, and visits with therapy dogs all summer long!
π Library Locations
π¦ Avon Park Public Library
π¦ Sebring Public Library
π¦ Lake Placid Memorial Library
π¨ Activities include:
β’ Dino painting and crafts
β’ Slime and sensory fun
β’ Dino parties
β’ Bead crafts
β’ Egg hunts and building challenges
β’ Therapy dog visits
β’ And much more!
Reading just 20 minutes a day can help children maintain and strengthen the skills they worked so hard to build during the school year.
Avon Elementary encourages all families to visit their local library this summer, participate in the Summer Reading Program, and help your child discover that reading really is "Rawr-some!"

πβ¨ Today, Avon Elementary had the honor of welcoming the Avon Park High School Class of 2026 for their special Grad Walk! β€οΈπ€π¬
It was such a proud and emotional moment to cheer on these amazing seniors as they walked through the halls where so many of their educational journeys first began. Seeing former Avon Elementary students return in their caps and gowns reminded us just how quickly the years fly by and how meaningful these school memories truly are. ππ«
We are incredibly proud of all the hard work, determination, growth, and perseverance these students have shown throughout the years. From elementary classrooms to graduation day, they have accomplished so much, and this is only the beginning! ππ
Our students and staff loved celebrating this milestone and being inspired by the graduating Class of 2026. We cannot wait to see all the incredible things these seniors will achieve as they step into their next chapter β whether itβs college, careers, military service, or following their dreams wherever life takes them. ππβοΈ
Congratulations, seniors! Your Avon Elementary family is cheering you on every step of the way! πβ¨
