With dog body language, it's all in the context!

Scratching is common. Dogs do all the time because, well... sometimes they itch! But if you see your pup suddenly stop during a dog/dog greeting or pause during a frustrating training task or end his stroll through a new environment to scratch out of the blue? That's a sign that he's trying to cope with stress.

Watch for other signs of stress such as lip licking, stiff postures, pacing, or sudden freezes. Your dog will really appreciate you taking the time to listen to what he's saying, because you'll be able to bail him out BEFORE situations get too intense. Communication for the win! 🥳
